Role Snapshot

Join Amii as an HPC System Administrator to design, build, and manage high-performance computing systems that power groundbreaking AI research and innovation. This full-time, 4-year term role is critical to maintaining the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities: Manage daily operations and maintenance of HPC clusters running Linux and SLURM, including monitoring system health, managing job queues, and optimizing resource allocation. Build and configure computing clusters with compute, storage, and networking components; design and troubleshoot high-speed networking; and maintain Linux and Windows servers with regular updates, patches, and backups.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in Linux and Windows server administration, networking, troubleshooting, and HPC environments is essential. Strong proficiency in SLURM, high-speed networking (InfiniBand, Ethernet), virtualization, scripting languages, and network services (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SNMP) are required.
Qualifications: Post-secondary degree in IT or related field is preferred; 3+ years of system administration experience in HPC environments is essential.
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Compensation: CA$80K–CA$120K/yr
