Role Snapshot
Part-time custodian position at the Exploratorium responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety of museum facilities. Reports to the Custodial Supervisor/Manager and involves operating custodial equipment and responding to facility maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities: Operate custodial equipment including floor machines, mops, and ladders to clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, entrances, and common areas. Collect and dispose of trash/recycling/compost, perform dusting, sweeping, mopping, shampooing, and disinfecting tasks, and refill supply dispensers.
Skills & Tools: Ability to operate custodial equipment safely and follow written and oral instructions while adhering to safety protocols. Physical capability to lift 35 lbs, push/pull 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
Qualifications: Minimum 6 months of custodial experience and/or successful completion of basic custodial training. Ability to read, write, and follow simple instructions with demonstrated understanding of safety standards.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $26/hr
