The Role
We’re looking for a Principal / Staff Product Manager to lead end-to-end discovery and validation for new product ideas, setting the learning agenda for how we identify, test, and scale future product bets. In this role, you’ll define opportunity spaces, design and run discovery-to-pilot experiments, embed GTM validation, and synthesize evidence into clear recommendations for leadership. This position sits on the New Products team, a team focused on exploring future-facing opportunities and ensuring engineering investment is tightly aligned with real customer, market, and funding signals. The ideal candidate is a senior product leader with deep 0→1 experience, strong strategic instincts, and a bias toward evidence-driven decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Identify and frame high-potential opportunity spaces aligned with emerging market, policy, and funding trends (e.g., AI-powered instruction, special education, parent-directed learning).
- Lead structured 6-week discovery-to-pilot cycles that rapidly test problem-solution fit with real customers.
- Define and operationalize success metrics and Innovation Scorecards to evaluate experiments objectively.
- Embed GTM validation into discovery, including buyer interviews, value messaging tests, and early pricing proxies.
- Partner closely with engineering to ship real, testable pilots quickly and learn from usage data.
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative signals into clear, evidence-backed recommendations to scale, pivot, or dismiss ideas.
- Establish and evolve the experimentation system that guides how the team learns, prioritizes, and makes decisions.
Who You Are
- 8–12+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership of early-stage or 0→1 product initiatives.
- Demonstrated success taking ambiguous ideas from concept to validated learning or pilot.
- Proven ability to take calculated risks, learn from failure, and apply insights to future bets.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and synthesizing qualitative insights with quantitative data.
- Strong strategic thinker who connects market dynamics, policy shifts, and funding trends to product strategy.
- Experience partnering closely with sales, marketing, or GTM teams to validate value and positioning.
- Calm, decisive, and opinionated—while remaining deeply evidence-driven.
- College degree preferred.
