Summary
The Buyer at Strategic Education manages procurement processes, issues purchase orders, and collaborates across departments to ensure efficient purchasing operations with a strong focus on customer service. This role acts as an intermediary between business units, suppliers, and accounts payable to support SEI's procurement functions.
Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include obtaining purchasing requirements from departments, entering data into procurement systems, issuing purchase orders, participating in sourcing projects, and confirming receipt of goods and services. The role also involves collaboration with contract review, accounts payable, and accounting teams to ensure proper coding and workflow compliance.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include strong interpersonal abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, understanding of procurement workflows, and ability to troubleshoot bottlenecks. Knowledge of Coupa or Oracle Fusion systems is preferred, along with effective communication across all management levels.
Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in finance, accounts payable, or procurement is required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required; relevant certifications are a plus.
