You will collaborate closely with senior business leaders, Legal, and Finance to drive value, innovation, and efficiency across high-impact spend areas.
In this role, you will…
Category Strategy & Sourcing
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Professional Services (consulting, advisory, contingent labor, legal, HR services) and Marketing (creative agencies, media buying, digital marketing, events, PR, and production).
- Partner with stakeholders to define scope, requirements, and evaluation criteria to ensure best-fit vendor selection.
- Execute sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) and lead end-to-end procurement processes from business intake to contract execution.
- Support adjacent technology categories (Software, Cloud, Hardware) by ensuring alignment between marketing and IT vendors where applicable.
Contracting & Negotiation
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations for SOWs, securing favorable pricing, service levels, and risk terms.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure compliance and mitigate business, data, and financial risks.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key Professional Services and Marketing vendors to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop processes for business reviews, vendor scorecards, and performance metrics.
- Identify and implement opportunities for supplier consolidation and spend optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, HR, Legal, IT, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and budget targets.
- Advise stakeholders on market trends, cost benchmarks, and emerging supplier capabilities.
- Support annual planning, budget reviews, and spend forecasting across categories.
Data & Process Optimization
- Use spend analytics and market data to identify sourcing opportunities and cost reduction levers.
- Drive process efficiency and compliance through standardization and use of procurement systems (e.g., Oracle iProcurement, ServiceNow, etc.).
You’ve got what it takes if you…
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 7+ years of strategic sourcing or category management experience, with strong focus on Professional Services and Marketing.
- Experience managing agency contracts, SOWs, consulting agreements, and media buys.
- Familiarity with Technology categories (Software, Cloud, Hardware) preferred.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with proven success influencing senior leaders.
- Excellent understanding of marketing agency models, professional services billing structures, and rate card benchmarking.
- Financial acumen to analyze cost drivers, budgets, and ROI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with procurement tools and systems (e.g., Oracle iProcurement, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Ability to operate in an evolving environment with limited structure—comfortable creating processes, building frameworks, and establishing best practices where none exist.
- Proactive, self-directed, and able to take initiative without waiting for formal guidance or established workflows.
- Thrives in a setting where autonomy is high and success requires potentially building business processes, not just maintaining an existing mature procurement model.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
