Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $85,000 - $130,000.

This Advocate would focus on supporting public sector organizations as they modernize how they design, build, and collaborate, partnering closely with our Marketing, Sales, and Product teams. You’ll bring deep design expertise, authentic storytelling, and a genuine love for the design community into our go‑to‑market strategies, while championing our users’ voices internally to help shape product evolution.
This role is available remotely in the Washington, DC Metro Area, and reports directly to the Advocacy Manager.
What you’ll do at Figma:
- Empower users at scale: Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Experience teams to enable federal, state, and local government customers to unlock the full potential of Figma in regulated environments
- Create compelling content: Develop engaging written and video resources tailored to governmental needs, including guidance on design systems, collaboration, and modern delivery practices
- Inspire community connections: Build meaningful relationships across the Figma community with a focus on public sector, govtech, and civic design practitioners, identifying opportunities for collaboration and shared learning
- Speak and engage at events: Represent Figma at relevant industry events, conferences, briefings, and Figma community programs, sharing practical, real-world insights
- Champion user voices: Surface feedback, constraints, and emerging needs from government and regulated customers, advocating internally to inform product direction, prioritization, and improvements
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Figma, including integrating it into diverse, large-scale, and regulated design and development environments
- Strong understanding of modern product development workflows, with experience building, managing, or operating design systems at scale
- Technical fluency and sharp design judgment, with a clear point of view on how design translates into production-ready systems
- Passion for engaging with the design community—especially in govtech or civic spaces—and confidence presenting to audiences ranging from small stakeholders to large industry groups
- Empathy for public sector designers and developers, paired with an entrepreneurial mindset to navigate ambiguity, experiment, travel extensively (25%+), and turn ideas into impact
