MaxPreps, a division of PlayOn Sports, is America’s Source for High School Sports — connecting fans, athletes, and communities through the stories and highlights that define local sports culture. We celebrate the young men and women who inspire their hometowns through dedication, teamwork, and excellence.
We’re looking for a Video Producer who can own end-to-end video storytelling across MaxPreps’ editorial, social, studio, and sponsored content. This role blends creative development, hands-on production, and cross-functional collaboration — ideal for someone who can concept, produce, edit, and deliver high-quality video at scale.
You’ll work closely with editorial, sales, programming, and production teams to turn ideas into polished video experiences — from short-form storytelling and podcasts to sponsor-ready series and event-based productions. This role will be central to growing MaxPreps’ original video portfolio while ensuring branded and sponsored initiatives are executed cleanly and creatively.
The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
●High-quality original video content across MaxPreps.com, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X.
●Sponsor-ready video opportunities that support branded and event-based initiatives
●Scalable video assets that can be reused across platforms and programs.
●Clean execution of all sponsorship obligations and production deliverables.
●Consistent delivery of studio, show, and storytelling content on deadline.
●Measurable growth and performance across video platforms through tracked metrics
In This Role, You Can Expect To
- Produce sponsored content: Coordinate with sales and production teams to execute sponsored programs and branded initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Edit across formats: Edit game recaps, player highlights, and storytelling VO-driven videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Create original storytelling: Write scripts for short-form storytelling videos centered on high school sports moments, athletes, and communities.
- Turn programming into video: Convert written content from the programming team into engaging video for MaxPreps.com and social platforms.
- Own distribution: Manage playlists of original video content on YouTube and upload content to YouTube and TikTok; provide original video assets for Instagram and X.
- Produce audio/video shows: Produce the MaxPreps Podcast beginning with the 2024 high school football season.
- Design supporting visuals: Edit photos and create graphics in Adobe Photoshop, including thumbnails for MaxPreps.com and YouTube.
- Manage productions: Lead larger video productions, work with freelance editors and producers, and ensure quality control across deliverables.
- Be on site when needed: Travel to events to film and edit on location when required.
- Be on camera: Participate in on-camera appearances and record voiceovers when needed.
- Track performance: Monitor and report on video performance metrics to inform future content and sponsorship strategy.
- Explore innovation: Leverage or experiment with AI tools to enhance efficiency, creativity, and production workflows.
- Support live schedules: Work nights, weekends, and holidays — when the biggest high school sports moments happen.
To Thrive In This Role, You Have
- A strong sense of ownership over creative projects from idea to execution.
- The ability to balance creative storytelling with sponsor and business requirements.
- Confidence working cross-functionally with editorial, sales, and production teams.
- Experience managing freelancers and larger video productions.
- Comfort juggling multiple projects while hitting tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site for live or event-based productions.
- 5+ years of video production and editing experience, with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop (Final Cut experience also valued).
- Interest in or experience using AI tools to enhance video production and workflows.
- Comfort being on camera and recording voiceovers when needed.
How You Play
- Ownership over Participation – You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.
- Team over Stars – You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You work to rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.
- Growth over Comfort – You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.
- Fairness over Popularity – You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging your assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact rather than relying on short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
