Macmillan's Consumer Insights, Marketing & Analytics (CIMA) department is seeking a proactive, data-driven, and detail-oriented part-time Consumer Insights and Analytics Contractor. We are looking for support to improve how data is collected and utilized.
The Contractor will collaborate with the Direct-to-Consumer Marketing & Ecommerce Strategy and Author, Brand, & Backlist Marketing Strategy divisions of CIMA, as well as the Sales and Platform Development teams, to deliver insightful, impactful data reporting on crucial KPIs and revenue streams across the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data to assess our performance in direct-to-consumer initiatives (TikTok Shop, Shopify), the library space, and more
- Collaborate with the Direct-to-Consumer Marketing & Ecommerce Strategy and Author, Brand, & Backlist Marketing Strategy divisions of CIMA – and with the Sales and Platform Development teams – to effectively respond to data needs across the company
- Track key performance indicators of digital promotions, translating trends into actionable insights and strategies
- Support the troubleshooting and refreshing of multiple databases and dashboards to maintain consistent reporting
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Power BI
- Python and/or Stata skills a plus
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for books and curiosity about emerging trends within the publishing industry
Compensation: up to $30 per hour depending on experience. Part-time schedule: initially approximately 10 hours per week.
