Summary
Senior Backend/Full Stack Software Engineer contributing to innovative language learning products for K-12 and universities at Vista Higher Learning. The role focuses on developing and optimizing industry-leading digital education solutions in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Skills & Tools: 7+ years senior-level experience with Ruby/Rails or Python and JavaScript, strong architectural design and advanced SQL expertise, proficiency with AWS cloud hosting, Unix systems, and git/GitHub. Must have excellent communication, collaboration skills, and advanced knowledge of networking, web protocols, and database schema design.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 7+ years of senior-level software engineering experience using Ruby, Rails, or Python. Preferred experience includes ed-tech/education industry, AWS deployment, LLMs, and WCAG accessibility compliance.
Location: Hybrid in Boston, Massachusetts (Tuesday/Thursday on-site minimum) or Remote within Eastern US Time Zone; current US residence required.
Compensation: $140,000 – $150,000 / annually
