Think Together is seeking a motivated intern for Strategic Projects to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector, supporting various initiatives and enhancing project management skills.
Responsibilities: Interns will engage in research and design of project management tools, support team meetings, and aid in the development of culture initiatives, among other responsibilities.
Skills: Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and be proficient with tools such as Microsoft 365 and Zoom.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in progress is required, with candidates being at least rising juniors or seniors, along with a passion for nonprofit work and education.
Location: The internship is based in Santa Ana, CA, with a hybrid work model involving some travel to school sites.
Compensation: $22 - $22 / Hourly

Whether you’re interested in early learning, elementary, middle or high school, you can invest in your community by working at a local school or working within our home office providing support!JOB SUMMARY:Think Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the odds for kids through expanded education programs, like afterschool programs, early learning, student services and school improvement. Interns will be placed with a department in Think Together’s Home Office based on their academic background, professional skills, interests, and goals. Under the mentorship of designated staff members, interns will work both independently and collaboratively with their departments on projects that support Think Together’s mission and operations. Interns will gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a large nonprofit organization and will develop skills and knowledge related to their academic and professional goals. Interns will also have opportunities to attend regular staff speaker series and professional development sessions.
The Strategic Projects Intern will gain behind-the scenes exposure to a wide range of initiatives and departments as part of Think Together’s interdisciplinary Strategic Projects team.
Description of Tasks
- Research and design project management tools and systems to support the development and implementation of new Think Together initiatives
- Coordinate the improvement of a repository for institutional project management guides, templates, tools, and resources
- Support Think Together culture initiatives, with opportunity to develop & pitch new culture initiatives
- Participate in Strategic Projects team meetings, Home Office meetings, and cross-department meetings as needed
- Support the Strategic Projects team as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Strategic Projects Director
Learning Outcomes
- Proficiency in project management skills, as well as insight into the importance of project management in a large organization
- Exposure to the variety of roles and work available in the nonprofit sector
- Experience collaborating and communicating with cross-departmental teams in a large nonprofit organization
- Experience developing strategic recommendations for executive team leaders
- Experience and familiarity with the operations of a large, community-forward after-school education program
Training
- General employer orientation, which may include safety trainings
- Project Management tools such as OKRs, Gantt charts, and RACI matrices
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in progress – Candidates must be at least a rising junior or senior in college, having completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework. • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills • Desire to work collaboratively, with an openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally • Passion and enthusiasm for education, nonprofit administration, and/or community service. COMPUTER SKILLS:• Familiarity or comfort with remote/hybrid work tools such as: Outlook, Microsoft 365 Suite, Zoom/MS Teams, cloud sharing • Use of typical office equipment WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Moderate Noise (examples: typical office noise) • Stand, Walk, Sit (in general office environment) • Computer Screen visual in performance of role • Lift up to 10 pounds • Travel up to 10%
Hours/Location
- Start date: June 2025
- End date: 10-12 weeks from start date or in alignment with college or university requirements
- 15-25 hours per week
- Hybrid role primarily working from home once weekly in office with some travel for school site events or activities
