Summary

Join First Student as an Assistant Transportation Manager to supervise daily operations, ensure on-time performance, and prioritize safety across transportation routes. You'll support the Contractual Manager in maintaining operational excellence and safety standards for school and passenger transportation.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily operations and monitor route coverage, interface with drivers on performance issues, investigate complaints and coordinate resolutions, and conduct safety audits. You will ensure on-time performance goals are met, manage dispatch coordination, and assist with union grievance resolution.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), effective task prioritization and time management, and familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance processes. Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities required to interface with drivers and resolve operational issues.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of transportation industry experience and 2-3 years of supervisory experience required. Must possess a working vehicle for travel within the service area and ability to work extended hours including weekends.
