Position Summary:
Penn Foster Group is seeking a strategic, insight-driven product marketing leader to join the Consumer Marketing organization as Product Marketing Manager. This role serves as the “brain” ofconsumer marketing- translating market, audience, and competitive insights into clear, differentiated messaging and go-to-market strategies that drive growth. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Consumer Marketing, this role also maintains a partnership with the B2B Marketing team to support employer- and partner-facing enablement needs. This manager will translate a deep understanding of customers, market trends, competitors, and our product value into marketing and GTM strategies that resonate and drive growth. Success in this role is defined by insight-led product positioning and effective GTM enablement that improves message clarity and launch performance, in close collaboration with Brand on narrative and storytelling.
Essential Job Functions:
- Directly manage and develop a Product Marketing Specialist, setting priorities, providing coaching, and ensuring high-quality, on-time deliverables.
- Develop and refine product messaging and positioning to ensure clarity and differentiation across program portfolios.
- Conduct market research and synthesize insights to inform strategy, messaging, and campaign priorities.
- Lead persona development and audience segmentation to guide targeting and personalization.
- Own competitive intelligence (positioning, offerings, pricing, trends) and translate findings into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Drive GTM strategy and enablement for new programs, features, and campaigns.
- Create and maintain messaging toolkits and enablement materials (value props, proof points, FAQs, battlecards, pitch narratives).
- Partner with Brand Strategy & Voice to ensure positioning informs brand messaging and differentiation is reinforced in-market.
- Partner with Content Strategy & Storytelling to provide audience insights, personas, and messaging inputs for content planning and personalization.
- Align with Web and Growth Marketing teams to ensure messaging and segmentation supportweb, paid, nurture, and conversion efforts.
- Collaborate with Product & CX teams on new program positioning, feature messaging, and feedback loops from learners and employers.
- Support B2B marketing and sales enablement by supplying market data, learner outcomes, and competitive proof points for partner pitches and collateral.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, market strategy, positioning, or related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated success developing messaging frameworks, personas, and segmentation that improve marketing performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior talent, including experience directly managing or coaching a specialist-level marketer.
- Strong competency in qualitative and quantitative market research methods and turning findings into strategy.
- Proven ability to lead and enable go-to-market launches across cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting B2B marketing and/or sales enablement with proof points, narratives, and competitive materials.
- Excellent strategic storytelling and writing skills with the ability to simplify complex offerings into persuasive messages.
- Analytical fluency and comfort using performance, market, and win/loss data to guide decisions
- Strong project management and stakeholder alignment skills.
- Ability to lead through influence, collaborate across teams, and remain comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
