Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $80,000 - $120,000.
Alabama State University, Office of Technology Services, invites applications to fill the position of MicroSoft 365 System Engineer.ย The Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer is a highly experienced IT professional responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Microsoft 365 (M365) ecosystem, including email services, and providing expert-level technical support to end-users.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and manage Microsoft Entra ID, including PeopleSoft and SSO integrations
- Set up and manage Intune for device management.
- Maintain Microsoft Application Access and Information Management.
- Design and manage Microsoft 365 applications, including but not limited to OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Design and execute user provisioning, updates, and deprovisioning processes and replated automation, including device registration, configuration, distribution, application subscription, and user assignments.
- Able to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and able to identify and solve complex technical problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience), have a basic understanding of network protocols and technologies, familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required. Microsoft 365 certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals) preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
- Familiarity with IT security best practices
- Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
