Role Snapshot

The Director of International Student Services leads Fordham University's office serving the international student community while ensuring compliance with U.S. immigration laws. This role provides strategic oversight, advocacy, and federal liaison responsibilities for visa and immigration matters.

Key Responsibilities: The director serves as the Primary Designated School Official and Responsible Officer overseeing visa and immigration services, manages office operations, advises departments on international programs, and advocates for the international student community. Key duties include designing immigration compliance strategies, consulting on new international programs, and providing statistics to stakeholders.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include strong leadership and communication abilities, expertise with SEVIS systems, knowledge of U.S. visa requirements, and proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office applications. Experience in advocacy, strategic planning, and ability to manage evolving federal regulations are essential.
Qualifications: A Master's degree is preferred, with extensive experience advocating for international students and management experience in higher education settings required. Familiarity with federal immigration law and prior experience as a PDSO or in international student advising is highly valuable.
Location: New York City, New York
Compensation: $120K–$135K/yr
