Role Snapshot
The Custodian maintains cleanliness and sanitation throughout the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This full-time position operates custodial equipment and responds to cleaning needs across various museum areas.
Key Responsibilities: Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, parking lots, and food service areas using various equipment and techniques. Collecting trash/recycling/compost, refilling supplies, disinfecting surfaces, and responding promptly to custodial requests.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in operating custodial equipment including floor machines, mops, squeegees, and lifts. Strong adherence to safety protocols, ability to follow written and oral instructions, and physical capability to lift/carry 35 lbs and push/pull 50 lbs.
Qualifications: Minimum 6 months of custodial experience and/or successful completion of basic custodial training. Ability to read, write, and follow simple oral and written instructions.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $25/hr
