Role Snapshot
Join Sourcebooks as a Summer Production Design Intern supporting the creation of visually compelling book covers for Adult & YA imprints. You'll gain hands-on experience in publishing operations, contribute to real projects, and collaborate with a creative team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Covers Production team in creating book jackets and visual assets while maintaining quality standards, support the full cover production process from design to print-ready files, and manage project timelines to meet creative deadlines. Additional duties include art buying research, design trend exploration, and tracking project progress.
Skills & Tools: Strong typography and design skills with proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop in a Mac-based environment. Must demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, take creative feedback constructively, and communicate effectively within a collaborative team.
Qualifications: Current college sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate with a passion for design and love of books. Prior design experience preferred; growth mindset and eagerness to learn print-design processes required.
Location: Naperville, Illinois
Compensation: $17/hr
