Key Responsibilities: Install, upgrade, and support enterprise-level applications and databases; provide Windows desktop/server support with performance troubleshooting; implement virtual server support, SQL/Progress database management, and third-party product integration.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Server and Desktop Technologies, Networking Fundamentals (switches, firewalls, routers, wireless), with preferred experience in Microsoft SQL Server, server hardware/storage, and virtualization platforms like Hyper-V/VMWare. Strong troubleshooting abilities and capability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or related field, OR two years of relevant IT experience required.

Compensation: $46K–$60K/yr

Job Description

Job Title: IT Services Technician

Location: Stevens Point, WI – Corporate Office 

Starting Salary: $45,972.49 - $60,000 (Salary commensurate with experience) 

Skyward is looking for an IT Services Technician that has a strong desire to work with the latest technology, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and wishes to be part of a team where your input is valued.

A Technician's focus is to install and support enterprise-level applications and databases that help Teachers and School Administrators quickly perform their daily tasks so they can focus on what's most important, the students. 

What you will do:

Install Skyward Applications: 

  • New Server Installs / Upgrades / Migrations 
  • Windows Desktop / Server Support 
  • Virtual Server Support 
  • Performance Troubleshooting 
  • SQL & Progress Database Support (Backup / Restore / Repair) 
  • Install / Supporting Product Updates 
  • Implementing / Supporting features such as LDAP and Email 
  • Integrating 3rd Party products 
  • Research and Testing of new technology 

What it takes:

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be able to work in team and solo environments.
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or related field, OR two years of related IT experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Server and Desktop Technologies 
  • Proficient in Networking Fundamentals (Switches, Firewalls, Routers, Wireless) 
  • Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server a plus 
  • Experience with Server Hardware / Storage a plus 
  • Experience with Hyper-V / VMWare a plus
