Role Snapshot
The Exploratorium seeks an On-Call Special Events Technician to provide logistical and safety support during special events outside normal operating hours, working with museum staff and external vendors to ensure event success.
Key Responsibilities: Provide logistical support including electrical access, opening/closing facilities, and exhibit preparation; mitigate building system issues such as resetting breakers and managing utilities; support safety and security functions including first aid coverage and emergency response.
Skills & Tools: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capacity to work under pressure, good judgment, and teamwork; Aerial platform/Lift certification is preferred.
Qualifications: Minimum one year of related special events experience required; knowledge of building systems and organizational structure preferred. Must be available for weekends, evenings, and early mornings, with ability to climb ladders, move swiftly, crawl into tight spaces, and lift 75 lbs.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $27/hr
