Role Snapshot

The Inventory Control Clerk maintains accurate inventory records and balances across the distribution center by verifying physical stock against computerized systems and resolving discrepancies. This role is critical to ensuring inventory accuracy and preventing loss within warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities: Checks warehouse inventory against WMS records, audits inventory movements and adjustments, schedules inventory counts to resolve discrepancies, and researches staging locations for accuracy. Reconciles discrepancies through detailed analysis and learns all distribution center areas to identify and prevent inventory loss.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software, strong attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving abilities. Organizational skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to learn multiple warehouse functions are essential.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; prior warehouse or inventory experience preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems and ability to perform accurate record-keeping required.
Location: In-Person - Garland, UT
Compensation: $28K–$36K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

The Inventory Control Clerk ensures that company inventory remains balanced, assists in maintaining inventory records, and maintains inventory accuracy across the distribution center.

A day on the job looks like this: 

  • Checks actual warehouse inventory against computerized records. Ensures all inventory is accounted for in WMS.
  • Reviewing and auditing inventory activities, including movements and adjustments that occur throughout the building.
  • Scheduling Inventory counts to clear up any discrepancies.
  • Researching staging locations to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconciling inventory discrepancies by detailed research into the different functions used throughout the warehouse.
  • Researching previous adjustments and make new adjustments as needed.
  • Learning all areas of the distribution center to learn how an item is lost and help promote ways to prevent inventory from becoming lost.
