Role Snapshot
Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 at Ascend Learning, developing and maintaining the ArchWeb platform—an internal enterprise application that tracks microservices architecture, teams, and technologies across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, test, and implement enhancements to the ArchWeb platform using Ruby on Rails and modern web technologies; collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver business-impacting projects and provide technical troubleshooting for production issues.
Skills & Tools: Required: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript (ES6+), SQL, HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs; strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. Preferred: Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in a computer-related field; demonstrated exposure to Agile-based development methodologies and knowledge of Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, SQL, and HTML/CSS through coursework or personal projects.
Location: In-Person - Leawood, KS
Compensation: $20–$30/hr
