About the Team:
The Quizlet Study Native team is dedicated to the development of features that support Flashcards, Test, Learn, and Set Page. The team owns the main Quizlet user-facing study features on iOS and Android.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate product-oriented iOS engineer to join the team. In this role, you will lead technical decisions for the Study product areas and the iOS platform. Additionally, you will help mentor other engineers and drive technical decisions. Most of our projects are cross-functional, so you will work closely with members from the Product, Design, Data Science, Data Analytics, Product Support, and User Research teams.
You’ll be in a position of technical leadership and assist in driving the team’s testing strategy, observability into success metrics, and codebase best practices. You’ll be responsible for triaging and prioritizing platform issues so that scrum masters can incorporate them into the roadmap.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Francisco office hubs.
In this role, you will:
- Lead technical strategy and execution for the Study Native team and the iOS platform
- Champion the strategic direction and architectural vision of the iOS platform, addressing technical challenges, driving initiatives for complex integrations, and large scale project execution
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering, product, design, and other stakeholders
- Drive engineering excellence, advocating for a high performing codebase that meets business and user needs
- Mentor Senior iOS Engineers
- Prioritize and manage the iOS platform backlog, making strategic decisions on issue triage, prioritization, and grooming to balance immediate product goals with long-term platform health
- Oversee significant refactors and redesign
- Set standards for code reviews and engineering processes
- Automate strategic parts of the development process
- Lead iOS prototyping for groundbreaking new Quizlet features
What you bring to the table:
- 7+ years of experience building iOS applications
- Mastery of Apple frameworks (e.g. SwiftUI, StoreKit)
- A solid CS fundamentals background
- A track record of technical leadership
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A track record of leading technical teams through positive change
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Development
- Experience successfully advocating architecture improvements to multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Proficiency in refactoring code with architectural patterns like MVVM
- Contributed or improved continuous integration processes with systems like CircleCI using Python and/or Ruby
- Experience with reactive programming frameworks like Combine or RxSwift

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $164,000 - $215,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
