The Training Manager, Development & Delivery is a critical role in bridging content development, operational execution, teacher communication, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure Kaplan's teacher training initiatives are delivered with precision and impact. This role is responsible for developing high-quality, data-driven training content but also implementing the digital infrastructure - web apps, sites, and automation tools - that support training delivery. This role will directly and indirectly manage part-time faculty trainers who contribute to content development and live trainee development, ensuring resources are aligned with organizational goals and program-specific needs.
Primary/Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage high-quality training content that employs learning science best practices, ensures engagement of learners, and aligns with Kaplan’s standards of excellence.
- Continuously self-educate on emerging research and trends in training, online learning, pedagogy/andragogy, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as tools for automation like machine learning and AI to ensure Kaplan remains at the forefront of test-preparation education.
- Operate, maintain, and update existing applications and platforms owned by the Teacher Training & Development Team, including The Buzz (Wordpress), Training Platform Sites (Moodle), eTEL (MediaWiki), Training Journey Dashboard (Flask/Python web app), GPS/LPS management (G Suite Web Apps) and NCLEXTrain (G Suite Web App), ensuring functionality and optimal user experience.
- Leverage data and analytics to identify and prioritize the highest-impact training curriculum needs, collaborating to implement data-driven solutions that enhance teacher development and process effectiveness.
- Self-educate in process design and web development, using internal and external resources to evolve training delivery.
- Produce engaging video assets and graphics for training purposes.
- Manage a team of part-time trainers, guiding their contributions to training content development and delivery projects.
- Cultivate strong working relationships and communicate effectively with trainees, Training Managers, Faculty Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth execution of training initiatives.
- Use feedback from participants and leadership to continually refine and improve training programs, ensuring they remain responsive to evolving needs and standards.
- Other duties as assigned which support changing business needs and opportunities to support Kaplan’s overall mission.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ Year of Curriculum development OR teaching experience required; Or equivalent experience in internship/academic responsibility
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to analyze data and make data-based decisions
- Experience with video/graphics editing and creation
- Ability to thrive in an innovative, teamwork-oriented professional environment
- Ability to work extended hours to meet business objectives (some evening and weekend hours required)
- Embracive of a fast-paced working environment with evolving responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively in a dispersed workforce
Preferred Qualifications
- Training curriculum development experience strongly preferred
- Experience coding in HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Linux-based command-line operations is strongly preferred
- Kaplan Test Prep (Grad/PC) teaching experience strongly preferred
- Experience teaching online strongly preferred
- Experience implementing WCAG standards preferred
- Experience working with underrepresented populations preferred
- People management experience preferred

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades, this position is a position is a Salary Grade A: $31,200 to $78,600. Actual compensation for this role is determined by several factors including but not limited to job level, candidate's skills, experience, and education, among other factors determined by the business.
