How You'll Help:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven Business Intelligence Engineer II with a passion for empirical research and data-driven insights, specializing in Tableau Server. As a BI Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, building, and testing our reporting platform, with a focus on data modeling and transformation to deliver streamlined datasets for business intelligence and data science applications.
What You Will Do:
- Develop, test, and maintain Python scripts to support data processing and analysis tasks.
- Utilize Tableau APIs to automate and enhance data visualization, reporting processes, and data source management.
- Administer and manage Tableau Server, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Tableau report development, data source development, user management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Monitor data quality and troubleshoot issues related to data integration and visualization.
- Provide support and training to end-users for BI tools and solutions.
You Will Be a Good Fit For This Role If You Have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Tableau Developer working with Tableau Server and Tableau APIs
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with relational database, SQL, Amazon Redshift / PostgreSQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Nice To Have’s Include:
- Experience in higher-ed
- Knowledge of university administrative organization, policies, procedures, and practices for institutional research-oriented roles
- Ability to tell stories with data using data visualization software Tableau, Excel, R, Python, or similar
- Prior experience in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from various sources
- Analytical approach and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Location:
HelioCampus has two locations, Bethesda, MD and Chapel Hill, NC. This specific role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to an office or client site
