Role Snapshot
Ascend Learning seeks a Software Engineer Intern for their Software Reliability Engineering team to develop and maintain containerized applications and CI/CD pipelines during Summer 2026. This full-time hybrid role provides hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure and automation within a purpose-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities: The intern will develop and enhance containerized applications, implement automated CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with cross-team members to design automation solutions. They will provide technical support for production issues and actively participate in Agile ceremonies throughout project iterations.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include Linux, Kubernetes, Python, and Git, with preferred familiarity in Pulumi, Kafka, DataDog, and Postgres. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication, and teamwork and organizational skills.
Qualifications: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field with exposure to Agile-based development methodologies. Some hands-on experience with Linux systems, Kubernetes, Python, and Git is required.
Location: Leawood, Kansas
Compensation: $20–$40/hr
