As an Accountant at Hack The Box, you'll ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial operations for a fast-growing, international cybersecurity company. You'll manage day-to-day accounting activities, support month-end close processes, and contribute to scaling the finance function across multiple entities and currencies.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and verify daily accounting transactions including revenue, payroll, AR/AP, and bank reconciliations; support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes; own assigned balance sheet accounts and reconciliations; prepare draft tax returns and support audit processes; utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate records and drive process improvements.
Skills & Tools: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred); solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, GAAP, and IFRS; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 2โ€“4 years of accounting/finance experience in complex, multi-entity, international, high-volume transaction environments. Experience in technology or software companies is a strong plus.
Location: In-Person - Athens
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is โ‚ฌ28,000 โ€“ โ‚ฌ38,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

โœจThe core mission of the Accountant:

As an Accountant at Hack The Box, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You'll manage day-to-day accounting activities, support month-end close and compliance processes, and contribute to scaling our finance function through process improvements and technology. This role offers exposure to a fast-growing, international business operating across multiple entities, currencies, and payment flows.

๐Ÿบ The fellowship youโ€™ll be joining:

You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the Finance team (including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable), as well as with vendors, external partners, and employees to support expense management, payment processing, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial operations.

๐Ÿข Location & Work Mode:

  • Athens, Attica, Greece
  • Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote). Those based within 55 km of our Athens office will follow a hybrid work model. For candidates located beyond that radius, a fully remote arrangement is available.

  • Manage and verify day-to-day accounting transactions, including revenue, payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Own assigned balance sheet accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare draft tax returns and support internal and external audit processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
  • Utilize ERP systems and accounting tools to maintain accurate financial records and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support finance process improvements and contribute to cross-functional finance projects in a fast-paced, global environment.

๐Ÿ† Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role:

  • 2โ€“4 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance department within a complex organization (e.g. multi-entity, international, high-volume transaction environment).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and GAAP/IFRS.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP system (NetSuite preferred).
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in a technology or software company is a strong plus.
