Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $65,000 - $95,000.
Alabama State University, Office of Technology Services, invites applications to fill the Access Manager position. The Access Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's card management system, ensuring seamless access for all users, and maintaining system integrity and efficiency. Includes the creation of access scheduling and maintenance of security access for specific enterprise applications and physical locations, including administrative, academic, and residential buildings. This position will also provide guidance, oversight, and performance feedback for the Digital Service Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate duties related to managing user roles and access privileges across all software and physical door access systems, following security policies and established procedures.
- Provide guidance, oversight, directions, and performance feedback for the digital
- Perform daily health checks of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform to ensure the service operates at optimal levels.
- Work to understand the IT enterprise architecture and communicate with the IT team to ensure IAM security standards are created and adopted in the enterprise architecture framework.
- Understand current emerging security threats and design IAM architecture to mitigate threats where possible.
- Perform other duties as assigned
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, 3-5 years of experience in access management or a similar role, experience in designing and implementing role-based access models, with a deep understanding of related tools, strong knowledge of card management systems and access control technologies, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, experience with database management and reporting tools, familiarity with IT security best practices
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in access management or IT security
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM) solutions
- Knowledge of smart card technologies
