Alteryx is searching for a Senior Instructional Designer. This position is remote first, based in North America.

The Opportunity: At Alteryx we believe that effective education is paramount to our continued success. We are looking for a talented individual with experience in software product training development, adult learning, and graphic design. In this position you will create new courses (instructor-led training [ILT], digital learning, and other modalities), update existing courses, and support the Learning Operations and Delivery teams.
The ideal individual will have previous customer education experience (ILT or digital) working with adult learning principles, course design models (ADDIE, Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning), curriculum development, instructional design, and course evaluation.
It is a plus if you are familiar with data analytics. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can easily work with our internal employees and external clients in the use of the Alteryx product suite.
Responsibilities
Content Development
- Design and develop engaging and effective learning experiences across a variety of modalities.
- Use expert-level consulting (subject-matter experts [SMEs]) to design content that addresses created learning objectives.
- Create and maintain training materials for users, customers, and partners.
- Support the delivery team, instructors, and operations partners.
- Use a wide variety of software/media/tools to develop content for ILT and digital learning, videos, infographics, performance support tools, and other deliverables.
- Build a knowledge base of current and future technology trends, innovations, industry standards, ideas, and best practices to ensure training offerings continue to engage Alteryx learners.
Processes and Governance
- Demonstrated ability to create and update documentation including policies, procedures, and guidelines to support efficient workflows and decision-making processes
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate documentation and governance requirements, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices
- Proven aptitude to effectively collaborate and work with other teams, while demonstrating the ability to lead and influence, in order to foster strong relationships and drive successful outcomes in cross-functional environments
Qualifications
- More than 8 years of experience as an instructional designer, content developer, or similar role
- Exceptional writing skills that include a proven ability to craft clear learning objectives as well as engaging and persuasive content tailored to adult learners
- Project management experience
- Aptitude to develop proficiency in all areas of the Alteryx product suite
- Expert in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Experience using SharePoint and Asana
- Experience developing learning solutions in Storyline 360 and Rise
- Experience developing content using desktop publishing software: Figma; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects; and TechSmith Camtasia
- Graphic design
- UI/UX design experience a bonus
- 1-2 years’ experience writing technical content or working in a related role in a SAAS industry a bonus
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced product development lifecycle
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively
- Able to communicate effectively both up and down the organization
- Able to travel 10% of the year

Compensation And Benefits
Alteryx is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This position is remote first and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.
The “On Target Earnings” (OTE) for this role in the United States is $106,375 - 121,200 USD Annual
