Role Snapshot
The Exploratorium seeks an On-Call Special Events Technician to provide logistical and safety support for special events held outside normal operating hours. This role is essential for ensuring event success and maintaining museum safety and security.
Key Responsibilities: Provide logistical support including electrical access, opening/closing the museum, and exhibit moves; mitigate building system problems such as resetting breakers and operating fire protection systems; and support safety functions including first aid coverage and emergency evacuations.
Skills & Tools: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure and take direction, knowledge of building systems, and physical capability to climb ladders, move swiftly, and lift up to 75 lbs. Aerial platform/lift certification is a plus.
Qualifications: One year of related special events experience required; availability to work weekends, evenings, and early mornings; knowledge of Exploratorium's building systems preferred.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $27/hr
