About the Role
This is a Part-Time position. The Research & Evaluation Lead role is responsible for leading the research and impact measurement for across our programs and learning teams. This person will be responsible for developing our programs and learning research strategy, as well as collecting, managing, and analyzing data aligned to our impact metrics. We have ambitious goals on quality and reach of our programs and this role will be an essential part of how we measure our overall impact. As a member of the Programs team, the Research & Evaluation Lead is a critical leader in our impact strategy and supporting our teams in setting data-backed priorities.
This role will report to the Chief Programs Officer and Director of Learning.
Role Details
- Location: This is a 50% FTE role; exempt position can be done on a flexible schedule remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with access to high-speed internet. The candidate should be comfortable and equipped to work efficiently in a remote work environment.
- Compensation: The baseline compensation for this role is $50-$55/hr

- Start date: We’d like a candidate to start as soon as possible after receiving an offer, though there is some flexibility.
Your Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Lead research design for programs
- Lead research and development to understand teacher use and student impact of materials including surveys, observations and focus groups
Impact Data Gathering & Analysis
- Establish key impact metrics, build systems to gather and analyze data for these metrics
- Lead team through analysis and extraction of insights from large, multi-dimensional data sets generating useful conclusions and actionable recommendations for department leaders and management team
- Ensure all reporting needs for metrics for grants are met and delivered on time for grant deliverables
- Be a champion of data integrity across the organization to ensure objective reporting
- In partnership with the development and programs team, develop databases and connect data sources to each-other, implementing new tools and solutions that allow us to store and analyze new data sources and join to our existing data sources in new ways
- Oversee automated reporting that enables department leaders and other teammates to analyze and extract insights from large data sets; manage uptime of all recurring reporting and scripts
About You
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Have 8+ years' experience in data analysis leadership or program evaluation roles in education or technology companies
- Have strong experience with survey design and evaluation design
- Experience setting up and managing data management software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential people data
- Communicates effectively across departments and levels
- Attention to detail and focus on data accuracy and integrity
- Strong prioritization skills; eager to work on many different tasks and projects at once
- Problem solver
