The UP & Innovation Group’s Supervisor, Academic Success is responsible for supporting student success across the group’s growing portfolio of programs via the management of mentor, TA, or similar academic support activities. The Supervisor, Academic Success will directly recruit, hire, train, manage, and support a pool of part-time Teachers Assistants (TAs) and Lead TAs that support online College Credit courses that Kaplan operates on behalf of university partners. The Supervisor may also directly support students as a TA or Lead TA, as business needs require. The Supervisor will also have the opportunity, in collaboration with the Manager, to continuously evolve how TAs promote student success and satisfaction.
This role will share responsibility with the Academic Success team for the following metrics:
TA performance and timeliness with key student-facing activities, e.g. assignment feedback, on-time grading, and student support
Student satisfaction, as measured by TA ratings, NPS, and other student feedback
Student success, as measured by pass rates and other learning outcomes
TA engagement and satisfaction, as measured by retention and survey responses
Primary/Key Responsibilities
Performance Management & Supervision
Continuous Improvement of the College Credit TA Program
Monitor and evaluate the TA program's impact on student success outcomes
Develop and implement grading calibration tools and processes to deliver consistent grading standards across students and cohorts
Regularly analyze behavioral and grading data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product, Marketing, Technology, etc.) to continuously improve the overall academic experience for both students and TAs
Support Shared Outcomes for the Academic Success Team
Collaborate with Manager and other Supervisors to support the overall management of part-time employees to deliver consistently high-quality academic experiences
Contribute to engagement and job satisfaction across the broader Academic Success community
Help manage and regularly update/iterate knowledge management and training resources for the Academic Success team
Support data-driven experiments and iterations to evolve how the Academic Success team delivers customer value throughout the academic experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 3 years professional experience in education field
Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role
Experience grading college-level coursework
Track record of independently executing work at the highest level of excellence
Demonstrated success in helping others to success in a mentor, tutor, coach, manager, or similar capacity
Demonstrated ability to quickly master new assignments, systems, and processes
Demonstrated ability to identify when to ask for help; identify, correct, and learn from mistakes; identify opportunities for improvement and suggest new approaches
Excellent written communication skills across email, messaging platforms, etc.
Experience and skilled in working remotely full-time, both independently and collaboratively
Ability to thrive in an innovative, creative, and teamwork-oriented professional environment with evolving job responsibilities
Ability to flex remote working hours in order to meet business objectives (e.g., being responsive to urgent employee messages during some evenings and weekends)

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades, this position is a position is a Salary Grade A: $31,200 to $78,600. Actual compensation for this role is determined by several factors including but not limited to job level, candidate's skills, experience, and education, among other factors determined by the business.
