Position Summary: The inaugural Product and Service Manager (PSM) will report directly to the Chief of Science and Innovation as part of the Evaluation and Practice management team. The PSM will lead the division’s efforts in integrating the IMPACT Measures Tool into professional learning offerings (e.g., training, workshops, webinars, etc.). As part of this work, the PSM will lead a design update that improves existing features and adds additional functions. For the update process, the Manager will collaborate with colleagues and user-experience (UX) design research firm to set priorities for our current and future service model as well as codify services based on market needs. Following the IMPACT tool update, the PSM will work with Vice Presidents in the division, as well as other staff, to create content for professional learning opportunities based on identified needs and "tool fit” within these offerings. These are expected to be time-limited projects to which existing staff and consultants will be assigned, thus this position may include some direct and project-based supervision of staff members. The position will also require close communication with other supervisors, Vice Presidents of E&P and the Vice President of Communications, to ensure clarity of roles and expectations. This position provides a unique opportunity for growth within a growing organization and division. The PSM will also oversee the tool’s performance and support the development of the business case for - and marketing – the IMPACT Measures Tool. The PSM will develop and collect relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to track scaling as well as impact of the tool and related professional learning services. The PSM will also develop an expert-level understanding of the early education marketplace and lead efforts to promote the tool and related professional learning offerings to appropriate potential customers including building relationships with important partners.
Key Responsibilities: Please note, the time allocations below represent estimates for the first year of employment. We anticipate following the completion of the IMPACT Measures Tool update and expansion, time allocations will shift toward business development and professional learning activities.
Lead Update and Expansion of IMPACT Measures Tool (30%): • Manage an update and expansion project of the IMPACT Measures Tool in collaboration with an identified UX design firm. • Work with UX design firm to collect, document, and prioritize user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints to establish project goals in alignment with the needs of key stakeholders (e.g., early childhood programs, nonprofits, foundations). • Regularly review UX design firm progress and provide feedback to maximize recommendations to meet user and business goals. • Ensure project adherence and facilitate communication. Oversee user research and usability testing efforts with the UX design firm. • Collaborate across the E&P Division to articulate goals and a theory of impact for service offerings leveraging the IMPACT Measures Tool.
Develop and Lead Division’s Professional Learning Leveraging IMPACT Measures Tool (30%): • Understand market needs and create specifications for professional learning in different markets (early childhood programs, foundations, nonprofit organizations). • Once the initial design/expansion is complete, continue to identify and prioritize new services and support their development to better meet customer needs. • Work with Vice Presidents and division leadership to assign time-limited projects to staff and consultants to create content for professional learning offerings based on identified needs and "tool fit” within these offerings. Support capacity planning and management, equitable project allocations, consistent service delivery, and sharing of knowledge.
Management of the IMPACT Measures Tool (20%): • Track and satisfy foundation grant deliverables related to the IMPACT Measures Tool including development of IMPACT funder reports as needed. • Co-design evaluation activities and tracking systems to measure impact, effectiveness, and ROI of the IMPACT Measures Tool, accompanying educational content, and professional learning offerings. • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead the development of regular reports to ICS leadership, board, and potential new funders highlighting key findings and recommendations. • Regularly use data to inform enhancements to division services, IMPACT marketing and business development initiatives, and team training and support.
Marketing & Business Development (20%): • Develop an expert-level understanding of the early childhood assessment and professional development landscape, which includes state-funded pre-k, Head Start, childcare and Quality Improvement Rating System (QRIS), and healthcare to inform IMPACT Measures Tool and professional learning content, as well as new business revenue strategies. • Work with the Vice President of Communications to develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns to increase the use of the IMPACT Measures Tool website as well as generate interest in related professional learning opportunities. • Build and maintain relationships with organizations interested in professional learning opportunities. • Co-develop pricing strategies for professional learning offerings based on market need and funding availability.
This position requires up to 15% travel.
Qualifications: • 7-9 years of professional experience in education, healthcare and/or related fields; preference for experience in early education and in leadership and/or administrative roles • A track record of engaging multiple stakeholders to set goals and priorities • Experience leading product management initiatives, demonstrating the ability to create, adapt, and launch products and services that meet identified market demand • Experience designing professional learning for educators and other professionals, including experience leveraging varied learning mediums, designing and overseeing virtual/in-person learning, and creating effective synchronous and asynchronous learning modules • Proven ability to establish, track, and share progress toward KPIs (e.g., by developing KPI dashboards) and hold others accountable to meet goals • Exceptional project management skills with an ability to work efficiently, navigate ambiguity, and prioritize effectively in a virtual environment • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, identify trends, and present actionable insights to inform organizational strategy and decision-making • Preference for experience working in and understanding the education marketplace
Compensation and Benefits: The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. ICS is a remote work organization with employees across the country.
