TorranceLearning is leading the design & development of a large curriculum of self-paced elearning for a critical Federal agency initiative. We are seeking several experienced course developers to complement our existing team of developers and xAPI specialists.
Job Details:
- Pay rate $55-65/hour, 1099 basis.
- Contract duration: through May 2025, with the potential for extension.
- Weekly hours: 24-48 hours based on project phase and response from client (weekly hours are not guaranteed).
- This is a nearly full-time remote position, with all work to be completed within the United States.
- This project runs during Eastern time zone business hours.
- This role requires your daytime attention to collaborate with your team members and the client in real time.
- These courses will be developed using dominKnow Flow. If this tool is new to you, our expectation is that you will spend some of your own time gaining skills before the work starts, so that you can perform and meet expectations from Day 1.
Note: You must secure Public Trust clearance before the start of the contract. This requires fingerprinting and a detailed US federal government background check.

You will engage in multiple aspects of this fast-paced project, with responsibility for 2-6 modules in varying stages at any given time. We use our LLAMA® Agile project management methods for our work, which means you can plan on a highly collaborative, iterative workflow.
You will be responsible for the development of responsive elearning modules in collaboration with a course design team. You will:
- Develop course modules and practical application activities including scenarios, role-plays, and simulations.
- Develop and test courses to ensure that assets, workflows, and functionalities are inclusive and comply with accessibility standards (Section 508,WCAG 2.1).
- Make edits to course modules following internal and client reviews.
- Collaborate with the course designer on the selection of media and the development of complex interactions.
- Participate in QA reviews of your own and others’ work.
- Work within and contribute to the project’s development standards.
- Maintain working versions and final content in a shared location to be used for future development needs.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings at 9AM ET and weekly project planning meetings.
- Communicate consistently with the Project Manager.
What You Bring to the Role
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional elearning development for adults in a workplace setting
- Experience developing mobile-first learning products using a variety of elearning authoring tools (experience with dominKnow Flow is a plus, but willingness to learn it is required)
- Experience developing and testing to meet accessibility standards (Section 508,WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Familiarity with SCORM and xAPI data standards (you will not need to develop the data tracking for these courses, but you will need to identify the data that should be captured)
- Experience working in an Agile instructional design environment (LLAMA® is a bonus, but not required)
Skills
- Proficiency in one or more elearning authoring tools (e.g., dominKnow Flow, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) with the ability to show a portfolio
- Strong visual communication and graphic design skills
- Effective and professional communication and collaboration with teammates, both verbally and in writing in written and verbal settings
- Speed and proficiency when developing a complete storyboard into a functioning elearning module
- High attention to details when proofreading both your work and others
- Excellent self-management of workload and timelines to prioritize business requests
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Active contribution to a positive work environment that fosters team performance
