Founded on Skid Row in 1980, Para Los Niños provides education and wraparound support, serving over 10,000 children, youth, and families annually in some of the most underserved areas in Los Angeles. PLN fosters pathways to success by striving for excellence in education, family support, and comprehensive social-emotional, and community-based services.

Internship Position Overview
The Data Support Intern, reporting to the Evaluation Manager, will have the opportunity to assist the Outcomes and Evaluation team. This role involves analyzing program data from the Student and Community Services (SCS) division, developing division-wide reports, and supporting needs assessments for policy advocacy initiatives. The Internwill gain valuable experience in data analysis, including:
- Data Preparation:Assisting with data cleaning and formatting to ensure accuracy.
- Analysis: Conducting both quantitative and qualitative analysis to extract meaningful insights.
- Data Visualization: Creating visualizations that facilitate interpretation and understanding.
- Reporting: Compiling comprehensive reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
This internship runs through June 30, 2025, with a time commitment of 10–20 hours per week. To support your academic schedule, the position is fully remote, with flexible hours and workdays. However, you should be available a few days during standard business hours for team meetings and regular communication. Upon starting, you will participate in a one-day virtual onboarding session led by our Human Resources team.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Education: We welcome applicants who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Microsoft Excel: Intermediate to advanced skills, including managing large datasets, identifying outliers, interpreting and building formulas, creating pivot tables, and designing various types of charts.
- Microsoft Word: Intermediate proficiency.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Language Skills:Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
The student must adhere to strict confidentiality policies in line with agency guidelines and legal standards.
