The Account Acquisition Executive (AE) is responsible for establishing strategic relationships with small to mid-sized corporate and healthcare organizations. The AE will work closely with executive decision makers on educational solutions that will help organizations better attract, develop and retain their workforce. The AE is responsible for developing and executing on plans for dedicated accounts within a defined territory or industry segment. This role has a strong focus on B2B sales execution and account management. The AE role may include acquiring new business partnerships, activating current partners or a combination of both acquisition and activation. Activation will be accomplished by creating awareness through communication plans and by developing strategic partnerships to uncover organizational needs and create solutions. A thorough understanding of the organizational needs of the 21st century workforce are critical to develop a meaningful learning solution for employers. The AE will also disseminate important customer insights into the new product development process to ensure that Capella degree and non-degree solutions are effectively designed to meet customer needs in key verticals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, Establish, and Launch new partnerships that generate awareness and interest in Capella University programs and solutions within defined industries, territories and/or accounts.
- Responsible for creating and managing ongoing prospecting strategy to significantly grow prospecting database and book of business.
- Effective story-teller, with strong presentation skills who can successfully articulate the value proposition, overcome objections and build trust/credibility to influence decision makers and secure business partnership.
- Effectively represent Capella’s value proposition and product offerings to potential and/or current partners.
- Develop relationships with partner accounts to drive engagement and gain commitment from partners on employee communication plans.
- Utilize data to provide value and drive strategic conversations with accounts.
- Collaborate with team members on strategies and initiatives.

- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with strong writing as well as public speaking skills; strong customer-centered selling skills.
- Strong track record of producing measurable results and building strong customer relationships.

- Competent using CRM for account management; Salesforce experience preferred.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in B2B sales and account management.
Education:
- From an accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree required.
Other:
- Must be able to travel 25% of time.
- This is a remote or onsite position in Minneapolis, MN.
- Typical office setting.
- Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
- Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
- Access information using a computer.
- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Effectively cope with stressful situations.
- Strong mental acuity.
