The GWC Curriculum Team is searching for a passionate and curious Summer Immersion Program Instruction Manager to prepare and develop a growing network of educators who bring the GWC mission to the classroom. This person will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of effective teacher training and support for our virtual Summer Immersion Program (SIP). In this role, you will also manage a team of 4-6 remote Site Leads to provide coaching and support to summer teaching staff.
You will report to the Instructional Design Manager and will work in close partnership with the Director of Instruction, People & Culture, Instruction, and Program Operations teams. The position affords a great opportunity to have a tangible impact on students and teachers and help close the gender gap in the technology sector. This is a remote and seasonal position that begins in June (June hours are flexible and scaled back) and continues through August 8th. You can generally expect to work between 20-35 hours per week (consistently 30 during the summer, and potentially fewer in June).

Responsibilities: Teacher Training and Support- Review and provide feedback on training and support materials as needed for teaching staff and Site Leads in the Summer Immersion Program (SIP) to ensure curriculum understanding and align teaching staff with GWC’s classroom management approach and organizational values.
- Support delivery of virtual trainings for 150+ seasonal summer staff with the support of the Instruction Team.
- Support the design, implementation, and delivery of in-program PD for SIP staff.
- Support with the moderation of the SIP Teacher Slack Workspace.
- Support the development and implementation of a plan for supporting SIP teaching staff in curriculum execution and classroom management.
- Oversee 4-6 remote part-time staff of Site Leads in order to support SIP Instructors and address concerns or challenges that may arise in the classroom.
- Check-in weekly with Site Leads and the Instructional Design Manager to provide additional support to the SIP teaching staff.
- Observe GWC programs in action and use your observations to inform your training and in-program support practices.
- Use observations to provide tangible feedback and next steps to Teaching Teams or Site Leads as needed.
- Complete performance evaluations of reporting SIP Site Leads.
- Support curation and documentation of teaching and support materials from the Summer Immersion Program.
Required Qualifications- Have a successful track record in setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on cross-functional projects.
- Have 3-5 years of teaching experience with middle and/or high-school students and/or adults.
- Experience coaching, developing and/or supporting teachers with tangible feedback and next steps.
- Be able to develop and implement training and support mechanisms that instill instructor confidence and competence.
- Have excellent people skills with an ability to balance priorities, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external partners.
- Have very strong leadership abilities and willingness to pitch-in, problem solve, and identify areas of improvement across the organization.
- Be able to learn new systems, tools, and technologies quickly in order to build training modules and curriculum (as needed).
- Have strong writing skills and be able to craft engaging, age-appropriate prose for students, teachers, and volunteers.
- Be comfortable working and collaborating with remote team members.
- Embrace challenges and adopt new responsibilities with creativity, initiative, and self-direction.
- Be an intellectually curious and responsive team contributor, delivering and receiving feedback regularly.
- Demonstrate comfort with adjusting work to evolving priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Believe that all girls can code, and be excited to work to close the gender gap in tech.
Preferred Qualifications- Hold a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Education fields, or have commensurate or demonstrable experience in STEM.
- Have knowledge of computer science education space.
- Have demonstrated success in teaching computer science or STEM subjects to middle and/or high-school students and/or adults.
- Have familiarity with Understanding by Design, Universal Design for Learning, and/or Agile Development Methodologies.
- Are proficient in at least one programming language (for example: Scratch, HTML/CSS, Python, Swift, Arduino-C, p5.js, JavaScript).
Program Date Information- The dates for each round are listed below and are inclusive of week zero and program dates.
- Round 1 starting Friday, June 27th through Friday, July 18th, 2025
- Round 2 starting Monday, July 21st through Friday, August 8th, 2025
- Additionally, candidates must be available for mandatory, multi-day Virtual Teacher Training sessions prior to the program's start date. Teachers are paid for attending the training and completing all deliverables:
