Girls Who Code is seeking enthusiastic Instruction Managers for our 2025 Pathways Program. Our program is designed to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls and non-binary students with the skills and resources to pursue academics and careers in the technology and engineering sectors, as well as build bravery and confidence.
The Pathways Program is a free, flexible six-week opportunity for current 9th-12th grade girls and non-binary students to explore beginner to advanced courses at their own pace. Pathways offers three different computer science tracks: Web Development, Cybersecurity, and Data Science + AI. Each track has two or more courses that introduce key computer science concepts and guide participants through video tutorials to build a project. Courses in each track also contain GWC Tech Spotlights showcasing women and non-binary professionals working in tech and encouraging participants to imagine themselves as leaders in tech.
Pathways participants can follow Girls Who Code’s recommended learning pathways or choose their own. Pathways participants receive a certificate for each course they complete. In addition to the asynchronous opportunities, students also have optional opportunities to engage synchronously during the program. These opportunities include:
• Connecting with other students and Advisors in the Girls Who Code Discord server
• Attending synchronous events where students have a chance to build community with community-building activities, learn new skills with our content-driven programming challenges, and connect with Industry Partners who provide valuable insights into the tech industry and help students explore potential career paths
• Attending Student Hours where students receive additional synchronous support while also allowing students to complete projects in a collaborative virtual co-working space
We believe all girls and non-binary students have the interest and ability to code. Our Pathways Program Instruction Manager will support our Advisors, who work directly with students in the program. The Instruction Manager will encourage, nurture, and mentor Advisors to develop and deliver training, conduct virtual event observations, facilitate check-ins with Advisor Teams, provide coaching and support, and serve as a communication liaison between students, Advisors, and the GWC central office. Applicants must have prior experience working as an Advisor in the program.
