Summary

Join First Student as an Assistant Transportation Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure safe, efficient transportation for students. This role supports the Contractual Manager in maintaining safety standards and operational excellence across school transportation routes.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily operations, monitor driver performance, investigate safety concerns and client complaints, ensure on-time route coverage, and assist with union grievance resolution. Additional duties include auditing athletic trip invoices and coordinating with dispatch staff for spare vehicle assignments.
Skills & Tools: 3-5 years of transportation industry experience and 2-3 years of supervisory experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance, strong prioritization and time management abilities, and willingness to work extended hours including weekends.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in transportation or management preferred. Must possess a working vehicle to travel within the service area.
