Role Snapshot
The Director of Engagement at Exploratorium leads the development and execution of fundraising events and stewardship initiatives to drive donor and sponsor involvement while advancing pipeline development. This role serves as a central member of the Institutional Advancement Department, collaborating across multiple departments to foster community relationships and enhance organizational revenue.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute 10-15 annual fundraising events including the Gala and Wonder Funday while developing comprehensive event strategies and stewardship programs. Lead event teams, manage budgets, oversee vendor logistics, and coordinate marketing and donor communications across the organization.
Skills & Tools: Proven expertise in planning and executing large-scale fundraising events, strong leadership and project management abilities, and proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with knowledge of fundraising principles and ethics.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant fundraising experience at a nonprofit organization. Demonstrated success in event planning and execution with strong donor relationship management capabilities.
