Role Snapshot
Fixed-term Assistant Manager for Visitor Engagement at the Exploratorium covering a 6-month leave. The role oversees daily museum operations while supervising staff, managing sales, and ensuring exceptional visitor experiences.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily operations of membership, ticketing, and retail departments; manage staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. Coordinate sales efforts, maintain supplies and equipment, and handle fiscal responsibilities across multiple visitor-facing departments.
Skills & Tools: Strong leadership, customer service, organizational, and communication abilities; proficiency with point-of-sale systems; conflict resolution and problem-solving expertise. Bilingual skills are a plus.
Qualifications: BA/BS degree or 5 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Demonstrated ability to manage diverse staff and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $35/hr
