Key Responsibilities: Spearhead operational efficiency initiatives, serve as controller overseeing accounting relationships and financial reporting, manage compliance across state/federal/international requirements, oversee sales operations including contracts and payments, and collaborate cross-functionally on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
Skills & Tools: Expert proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (especially Excel), strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities, excellent communication and presentation skills, high organizational ability with keen attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and ability to influence cross-functionally with integrity and discretion.
Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in fast-paced, analytical operational leadership roles with a finance focus; compliance management experience is a bonus. Demonstrated ability to thrive in early-stage startup environments with problem-solving orientation, adaptability, and a positive, inclusive leadership approach.

Compensation: $150K–$220K/yr (estimated)

About this Role


We are looking for a Director of Operations who has a strong bend towards finance. This person will begin as a one-person operations expert in a fast growing startup, overseeing the business operations umbrella and controller functions. This person will need to come to the table with a sharp business acumen and work collaboratively with all cross-functional partners.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Spearhead select strategic initiatives to improve processes and efficiency in the organization, especially in regard to operations
  • Work as our controller, including overseeing our relationship with our outsourced accounting firm. You will need to effectively coordinate the delivery of all accounting and financial reports, review incoming invoices and oversee compliance of select company policies (e.g., travel and expense).
  • Oversee aspects of compliance, ensuring we are operating safely and mindfully in regards to various state, federal and international laws.
  • Oversee sales operations, including overseeing and building contracts, issuing timely payments, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Business Development, etc) to complete cost analysis, forecasts and budgets for projects and initiatives.
  • Establish top-line performance metrics and targets, analyze and report realized financial performance to company leaders.


Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years experience in fast-paced, analytical operational leadership roles with a finance bent. Bonus points for experience in managing aspects of compliance.

  • A positive, can-do attitude. You’re not deterred by minor setbacks and are able to swiftly overcome ambiguity.

$150,000 - $175,000 a year

Competitive salary ($150,000 - $175,000) and equity package in a well-funded, high growth company. Compensation is based on a number of relevant factors such as location, professional experience and related skill sets.
