About the Role: 

This remote position is based on the West Coast of the United States. As the Director, Assistant Controller, you will report directly to the SVP, Corporate Controller and lead a global accounting team of approximately 10 talented individuals. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to transform key finance operations and processes, including monthly close, financial reporting, procure-to-pay, international accounting, financial process automation, and team development. Your leadership will significantly impact the company's global finance strategy, and you will have regular collaboration with the executive team to drive operational excellence. 

What You Will Do:

Team management: 

  • Mentor and develop a global accounting team of approximately 10 talented individuals, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance
  • Lead the team to partner closely with other accounting leads and cross-functional teams (Biz Tech, Strategic Finance, Legal, HR, etc.) to ensure seamless collaboration

Month-end close and financial reporting:

  • Serve as the key leader of historical financials, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the month-end book close of Go1 group entities and business units.
  • Create and implement plans to enhance and reduce the timeline of the monthly close process, building new future state processes and reporting.
  • Support external audit teams to ensure timely completion, understand where improvements can be made, and incorporate these into an overall process improvement strategy.

Procure to pay process: 

  • Lead the team to maintain systems, procedures, controls, and policies for the accounts payable function to ensure efficient operations of procure to pay, including the PO and invoice processing, expense reimbursement, corporate card administration, and operations. 
  • Drive the adoption of procurement policies across the functions.
  • Supervise the complete and accurate accrual of costs and expenses.

Finance system and process automation: 

  • Key leader in partnering with the Biz Tech team to implement, upgrade, or maintain finance systems and tools. 
  • Champion automation and efficiency across the accounting team to scale with the company's growth, bringing a fresh perspective on what best-in-class looks like.
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and maintain a system of robust internal control policies and procedures across the accounting organization and its upstream dependencies.

What You Will Need to Thrive in This Role: 

  • Global Finance Operations: Experience working with global finance teams across multiple time zones is essential, and a willingness to work non-standard hours to accommodate various time zones.  
  • Exceptional Leadership: Inspire and manage a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and accountability. 
  • SaaS Industry and Accounting Experience: Bring extensive experience leading global accounting teams in public or high-growth private SaaS companies, with deep knowledge of primary accounting standards, such as IFRS and/or US GAAP.  
  • Finance System Implementation and Automation Experience: Exhibit advanced skills in NetSuite (or similar ERP systems), and other finance systems commonly used by enterprise SaaS companies, leveraging technology to drive process improvements and automation. 
  • Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrate unwavering commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior in all interactions. 
  • Hands-on Approach: Balance strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail to drive exceptional results. 
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating resilience and an ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Must be based in the Pacific time zone of the US to collaborate effectively with APAC.

At Go1, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $180,000 and $215,000 and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is also eligible for the employee bonus plan and employee stock options.
