Role Snapshot
Vernier Science Education seeks an experienced Systems/Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage their on-premise network and systems infrastructure with a strong focus on Linux-based administration. This role offers the opportunity to lead key technology initiatives while supporting a purpose-driven organization that empowers STEM education globally.
Key Responsibilities: Manage Linux servers, virtual machines, network configurations (DNS, DHCP, routing, WLAN, firewall), and security appliances while providing IT support for both on-site and remote customers. Lead technology initiatives, implement proactive solutions, and ensure disaster recovery planning.
Skills & Tools: Extensive experience in Linux administration, virtualization (VMware), firewall configuration, and network management with strong problem-solving abilities and capability to work independently. Demonstrated expertise in Windows systems, security appliances, and complex infrastructure management.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience required; preferred certifications include LPIC-2 or similar Linux certifications. Proven experience in networking, virtualization, and managing enterprise-level on-premise infrastructure.
Location: Beaverton, Oregon
Compensation: $85K–$120K/yr
