Role Snapshot
The Development Specialist, Events supports the Institutional Advancement team at the Exploratorium by coordinating donor fundraising events and managing logistics for various fundraising initiatives. This role is essential for executing successful donor engagement and stewardship events across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate annual donor engagement events, manage event logistics including guest lists and vendor coordination, and collaborate with multiple departments for event execution. Serve as liaison between the IA team and marketing/creative teams, develop communication strategies for stewardship events, and assist with event setup and breakdown.
Skills & Tools: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and database management. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and execute design and communication strategies.
Qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required, with three years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit, educational, or museum environment. Knowledge of best practices in fundraising and event planning essential.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $37–$39/hr
