Role Snapshot

Lead engaging youth mentoring and lunch/recess activities for elementary and middle school students at Elevo Learning, fostering social-emotional learning and student well-being in North Highlands, CA. Serve as a positive role model while managing groups of up to 20 students through structured games and activities.

Key Responsibilities: Facilitate structured games and activities based on Elevo curriculum, manage student behavior, collaborate with school staff and administrators, and lead outdoor lessons. Ensure activities run smoothly while being responsive to individual student needs and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Skills & Tools: Strong leadership, organizational, and group management skills with the ability to engage and build trust with students. Must be approachable, empathetic, patient, adaptable, and able to confidently manage diverse student needs while serving as a role model.
Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in education, coaching, child development, or child-focused work strongly preferred. Must pass Live-Scan background check and TB screening, be eligible to work in the United States, have reliable transportation, and demonstrate ability to engage in frequent physical activity.

Youth Mentor and Lunch/Recess Program Facilitator

Schedule: Part-time, 26 hours per week Monday to Friday between 7am-6pm

Location: North Highlands in Twin Rivers USD

Expected Hourly Rate:  $19 per hour

ABOUT US

THE ROLE

  • Lead groups of students through structured games based on the Elevo curriculum. 
  • Engage students in sports, games, and other activities. 
  • Supporting kids’ behavioral management needs.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with school administrators, teachers, and fellow coaches.
  • Leading outdoor lessons designed to increase excitement about learning.
  • Serve as a positive role model to the students to build kids’ self-esteem and emotional wellness.

ABOUT YOU

  • Have been successful working with elementary and/or middle school kids.
  • Confidently manage groups of up to 20 students with minimal assistance.
  • Can improvise, adapt, and take initiative when needed.
  • Are approachable, empathetic, patient, and able to build trust with kids.
  • Present yourself as a confident leader and a positive role model.
  • Connect with students and foster positive learning experiences.
  • Pay close attention to student needs and adjust activities accordingly.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, complete and pass a Live-Scan background check, and TB screening.
  • 1-2 years of working experience in education, coaching, child development, or other child-focused experiences strongly preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Willing to follow COVID-19 protocols outlined by the school.
