Summary

The Research Training Specialist supports the Harvard Cancer Consortium CURE Program by managing student training operations, recruitment, and student-mentor relationship oversight across the HCC network. This role serves as the operational backbone for a high-volume summer research internship program serving high school and college students.

Key Responsibilities: Primary duties include leading student recruitment and outreach, coordinating admissions logistics, managing onboarding and compliance documentation, approving student timecards, stewarding operational data across multiple systems, and providing direct support and coaching to assigned cohorts of students including site visits, progress monitoring, and conflict resolution.

Skills & Tools: Required skills include strong organizational and project management abilities, proficiency with CRM/database systems (Salesforce, Canvas, Smartsheet, Microsoft 365), excellent written and verbal communication, student support and coaching experience, and ability to manage high-volume administrative tasks with attention to detail and confidentiality.

Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of program administration, student services, or related experience; experience with educational programs, research institutions, or nonprofit operations is preferred.

Location: Brookline, Massachusetts (Boston area); Hybrid schedule with evening and occasional weekend responsibilities

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $50,000 – $65,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.
