Role Snapshot
Join the Oxford Dictionary of African American English (ODAAE) team as a Lexicographer to draft and edit dictionary entries documenting the lexicon of African American English using historical methodology.
Key Responsibilities: Draft and edit dictionary entries for African American English words, research word history and usage through primary sources and databases, review editorial work for accuracy and style compliance, and contribute to the development of lexicographical models and promotional efforts.
Skills & Tools: Strong knowledge of African American English, experience in linguistic research and collaboration, familiarity with lexical resources and databases, and ability to conduct historical textual analysis.
Qualifications: Preferred knowledge of African American literature and culture, history of English variation, and other American English varieties; experience working in research teams.
Location: United States
Compensation: $57K–$60K/yr
