Job Description
Well, hello there 👋
Castify (Creators of Screencastify) is a leading technology company dedicated to improving communication and learning outcomes with video. We have established ourselves as a leader in the K-12 education sector in the United States and we are critical in helping scale a teacher and improve student outcomes. We are also actively expanding into new and exciting markets outside of K-12 including bringing our tested solution into companies and organizations. Castify is used by over 15M people today and is seeking an entrepreneurial and action-oriented Senior Product Manager to join our Squad and help us continue down the path to growth!
About this role
What started as the simplest and most reliable screen recorder in the world, with millions of users, is now a multi-product, AI-first platform. Our near future is full of ambitious new goals, features, and products that will enable us to further improve how we provide service to our users and accelerate growth.
As a Senior Product Manager on our Product team, you will own the end-to-end outcomes of new features, bridging the gap between user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals. This role exists to solve meaningful problems for our users by building intuitive and high-impact experiences.
You will come to the table with a point of view, recommending strategy and roadmap, owning goals, and driving development end-to-end. You’ll work as the "connective tissue" between Engineering, Design, Data, and Customer Success to deeply understand user pain points, define requirements, and ensure we are building the right things for the right people.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who:
- Takes ownership of goals and recommends the strategy and roadmap to achieve them.
- Can own big bets and envisions where the market is going to develop best-in-class products and features.
- Thrives in ambiguity and can translate complex user feedback into actionable product requirements.
- Can drive multiple projects at the same time, managing all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Is a natural problem solver and driver who proactively identifies and removes obstacles, pushing initiatives forward with urgency and accountability.
- Loves balancing intuition with data to develop impactful features and set benchmarks for what success looks like.
We have millions of users and an expanding suite of powerful features. This means your work will have a real, immediate, and visible impact on how people work every day. If you are motivated by owning product development, solving hard problems, and shipping world-class software, this role is for you.
Why is this role special?
- Have a massive impact. As part of a small Product team you will own many product initiatives and be instrumental in the design of features and products that will be seen and used by millions of people.
- Work for our users. Above all else, you will be an advocate for our users and will get to know their voices and stories better than most people in the company.
- Join us at an exciting time. We're bootstrapped, profitable, and support tens of millions of users, which gives us a huge green field to work with. You'll join at the perfect time to shape how we grow from here.
What you'll do:
- Own specific product goals, recommending the strategy and roadmap to achieve them, and driving the team to deliver results.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
- Gather insights about customer needs through partnership with Customer Success, qualitative user research, and data analysis.
- Identify minimum lovable product requirements that prove user traction while minimizing development scope.
- Collaborate closely with Design to iterate towards the simplest experiences that deliver on functionality.
- Translate high-level strategies into detailed PRDs and user stories.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Engineering to clarify requirements, resolve blockers, and manage trade-offs during the development cycle.
- Leverage AI to enhance the user experience and streamline our internal product development lifecycle.
You're perfect for this role if you:
- Bring 6+ years of experience in product management, specifically with SaaS products, demonstrating a track record of delivering impactful solutions.
- Have worked at a startup with fewer than 200 people and understand the pace, scrappiness, and ownership mentality that comes with it.
- Have a proven ability to own goals end-to-end, from recommending the strategy and roadmap to driving execution and measurable outcomes.
- Are a strong market thinker who understands competitive dynamics and uses that knowledge to shape product direction.
- Are comfortable using AI to build products from 0 to 1, with a deep hands-on approach.
- Are a proactive problem solver and decisive decision-maker who moves with urgency, weighs trade-offs quickly and holds themselves and others accountable.
- Are endlessly curious and data-driven, investigating customer behavior and using analytics to inform product decisions.
- Are a strong communicator with experience working cross-functionally.
