Role Snapshot

Multimedia Specialist I will support faculty video needs and produce engaging educational content for the University of Florida's Center for Instructional Technology and Training. This role ensures quality, professional, and accessible video production while managing studio operations and student workers.

Key Responsibilities: Daily studio management including opening procedures and student worker supervision, video recording and post-production editing in studio settings, troubleshooting audio/video equipment issues, and ensuring final delivery of materials meets UF Standards of Excellence and ADA compliance requirements.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition), video recording and editing expertise, knowledge of video and audio equipment operation and troubleshooting, team management capabilities, and talent interaction skills.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant multimedia or video production experience required. Competency in studio video lecture recording and post-production workflows is essential.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate level Multimedia Specialist to join Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT, to assist with studio management, video recording, editing and delivery of educational content.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

The Center for Instructional Technology and Training is part of the Office of Academic Technology within UF Information Technology. We empower customers with knowledge, skills and technologies to successfully meet their teaching and learning needs. Our services ranges from instructional design, video production, assessment technologies, to exploring emerging teaching and learning tools.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

The Multimedia Specialist will be designated to support faculty video needs. This individual will also work with UFIT staff to produce engaging video for training and tutoring. This position requires the applicant to be competent with video lecture recordings in a studio setting. Applicants should be knowledgeable in managing a team, video recording, post-production, talent interaction and final delivery of materials following the UF Standards of Excellence.

The proposed position aligns and supports the university mission by ensuring quality control of video production, ensuring the University of Florida’s senior leadership recordings are precise, professional, and timely, and to comply with all ADA and accessibility requirements available from UF. Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Daily studio opening and managing a team of student workers
  • Understanding the video and audio equipment in studios and able to troubleshoot issues quickly
  • Comfortable working with Adobe Creative Suite of editing tools (Premiere, After Effects, Audition)

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • EDUCATION & TRAINING
    • Two or Four year degree in video production or related discipline or 2+ years of camera experience and management of small staff
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Work experience with studio settings, schedule management, and project management software
  • SKILLS
    • Demonstrated proficiency in video production
    • Demonstrated proficiency with professional multimedia software
    • Customer services skills
    • Demonstrates ability to adhere to a strict file management system
  • ABILITIES
    • Ability to produce and edit interactive media using computer technology
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail
    • Ability to deliver quality customer service
