The Alfred West Jr. Learning Lab is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of custom learning tools and simulations at the Wharton School. The Learning Lab maintains a portfolio of 30+ simulations that were built in partnership with Wharton faculty and using a wide range of vendors and developer resources, the Learning Lab builds tools that enhance learning outcomes within all of our degree granting programs. Additionally, the Learning Lab partners with faculty to assist in the delivery of 3rd party tools within our classrooms. Lastly, the Learning Lab works with partners both within the school and externally to market and distribute Learning Lab-developed tools to faculty around the world.
Job Description
This position will report to the Senior Director of Learning Innovation and Collaboration and be responsible for simulation usage/support, relationship management, and exploring commercial opportunities with partners within Wharton as well as other organizations outside the school. The Learning Lab's simulation portfolio is utilized by numerous stakeholders outside our degree granting programs. This position would be responsible for supporting these relationships and ensuring these utilized simulations are meeting customer needs within these programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation regarding simulations usage, ensuring the technical needs of a simulation match the delivery method provided by the program. Solve complex technical problems involving multiple stakeholders within high visibility and strategically important programs. Manage a remote technical resource to ensure simulations are setup to program expectations. Interact and manage clients both within the school as well as external users of Learning Lab simulations.
- Work within Wharton to manage simulation usage in our non-degree granting programs. The Global Youth Program, Wharton Academy, and Executive Education require simulation support, and this person would be expected to support these relationships with these critical stakeholders. They would be expected to partner with these departments during the development of content for these programs, as well as provide consultation as to the appropriate exercise for their curriculum.
- Develop materials to support facilitation of Wharton simulations by external users. This includes writing setup documentation, assisting with the creation of teaching notes, as well as the creation of video walkthroughs if needed.
- Work with external partners. Wharton simulations are sold by other organizations. This role would work with these partners to solve any technical issues that get elevated to the team, as well as partnering with them to prepare new simulations to be sold on their marketplaces.
- Provide on-campus support of the entire portfolio of Learning Lab simulations as needed. There will be times this role would be expected to be on-campus to assist with simulation delivery regardless of the program. This role would work with the Sr. Operations and Relationship Manager to provide back up support as needed during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of IT experience. Preferably in Higher Education.
- Experience in a customer support role. Preferably experience managing vendors and 3rd party relationships.
