Provide timely customer communication regarding delivery schedules, complete daily status updates to the Warehouse Manager, and ensure all installations meet budget and timeline commitments.
Skills & Tools: Strong customer service and communication skills, mechanical ability for furniture assembly, attention to detail, and ability to read and interpret work orders. Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professionalism, and the capacity to manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; current driver's license with clean driving record and ability to obtain a level 2 contractor/vendor badge required. Must be able to lift 100 pounds regularly and perform duties requiring standing, bending, reaching, and full range of body movements.

JOB TITLE: Field Service Specialist

JOB TYPE: Hourly

LOCATION: Gainesville, FL

COMPENSATION: $18-$20/hour

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The basic functions of the Installer is the performance of onsite school furniture installation, collaboration with third party installers, service repair, training and customer service.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides professional turnkey install services including unloading, staging, installation and removal of trash

• Performs installations to meet all commitments on time and within budget to exceed internal and external customer expectations

• Keeps installation areas clean and free of debris to ensure safety

• Maintains tools/supplies to perform job accurately and safely

• Cleans and assembles furniture for each project assigned

• Keeps Warehouse Manager apprised of activities by providing daily status updates

• Ensures complete load outs on each delivery to reduce return trips

• Ensures deliveries are complete and on time while keeping customers updated with delivery times for each stop

• Ensures company vehicles are clean while removing trash and personal effects upon return

• Other duties and tasks may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager

• Maintains a neat, clean, professional appearance by being properly uniformed and groomed

• Maintain a “positive” and “can do” attitude especially during problem resolution and difficult situations

• Accurately verify quantity and quality of items loaded/unloaded on truck

• Respect the unique security, safety and professional requirements of our education client base

• High School diploma or its equivalent required

• Ability to perform duties that require standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time

• Must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands to handle and feel objects such as computer equipment

• Ability to bend the body, to reach for objects and to crouch when needed

• Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus

• Must be able to lift safely 100 pounds with regularity

• Current driver’s license with clean driving record required

• Ability to travel, in all types of weather including heavy rain, below freezing temperatures and extreme heat

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret work orders and scheduling reports

• Ability to respond to customer inquiries or complaints

• Manage time to complete all required duties

• Mechanical ability required to assemble furniture and accessories

• Understands and can learn basic installation processes: unloading, loading, staging, unpackaging, component assembly, cleanup and detailing, lock installations, etc

• Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts, including any overnight out of town assignments

NOTE: All Meteor new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation (approx. 1 week) which requires travel to our home office in Gainesville, FL. Employees may also be required to travel and attend annual company meetings and events. All business-related travel expenses will be paid for by Meteor per our company travel and expense policy.
